I gazed upon a clear night sky, the stars gleaming in the vast midnight blue.  Extending dark shadows in the woods and those of gnarled tree limbs stretching further out, the moon cast its pale glow upon the land.  In a rhythmic pattern crickets rubbed their forewings together to create their chirping song in an abundant melody.  The wind blew a cool breeze against my skin, also bringing the scent of green walnuts.  Standing on the porch looking out at the landscape my hand resting on the slightly weathered railing, these are the nights that I enjoy most.
